Carolyn Capozza runs the Ronco Post Office, which is open for two hours on weekdays, and three and a half hours on Saturday. Although she thinks Ronco will never return to what it once was, she still sees a future for the patch in the Ronconian kids who play basketball, ride their bikes, and walk down the street past her mailboxes.
Erickson and Meadow Run
Aimee Erickson, the executive director of Citizens Coal Council, sits on a bridge above Meadow Run before it empties into the Monongahela below LaBelle. As part of a settlement with Matt Canestrale Contracting Inc., the stream will be cleaned up and fly ash dumping will be suspended for a year.
090916 B-17 Bomber
B-17 pilot Lorraine Morris in front of the Aluminum Overcast, a bomber built in the last days of World War II and used for a number of purposes in the decades after the war. Morris, a volunteer, flies the plane with her husband, Ken, also a pilot, in two-week stints as they tour the country giving rides to the public.
Bower's first anniversary
Fayette County District Attorney Rich Bower prepares to mark one year in office. The year has seen changes to the District Attorney's office - from a complete renovation of their wing of the courthouse, to a new energy and attitude that Bower attributes to the quality of his staff.
